Qualcomm is applying to Chinese courts to ban the sale of Apple's latest iPhones, XS and XR, according to the Financial Times on Thursday.

Earlier, Qualcomm announced on the evening of Dec. 10 that the Fuzhou Intermediate People's Court of China had issued a preliminary injunction prohibiting Apple from importing and selling the iPhone 6S, 6S Plus, 7 Plus, 8 Plus and X in the Chinese market, because the court believed that Apple infringed on two software patents of Qualcomm.

Jiang Hongyi, who is in charge of Qualcomm's patent lawsuit, said“We plan to file a lawsuit against the three latest iPhones that also use patents.”

Apple said Monday that all its mobile phone models are still being sold in China and has filed a request for reconsideration with the court. Apple also said that the three mobile phones released in September were not part of the case.

Qualcomm and Apple have not yet responded to the news.
