President Of Semi: Semiconductor Industry Output Will Exceed Trillion Us Dollars By 2030

On December 11, the first global IC entrepreneurship conference and the 16th China International Semiconductor Expo were held in Shanghai. Ajit Manocha, president and CEO of SEMI, delivered a speech at the conference, saying that China and the world need each other.

Manocha pointed out that the semiconductor industry is in an exciting stage. Its total output value has increased tens of times from tens of billions of dollars in the 1980s. It is expected to reach 500 billion dollars by 2020 and trillions by 2030.



Why can the semiconductor industry have such a growth path? Manocha said that considering the strong cyclical nature of the semiconductor industry, there will be some big growth and recession stages, so there should be more and more clear development.

Speaking about the importance of chips, Manocha said that in the past 10 to 20 years, many new social media and business companies have sprung up, such as Facebook, Google and Alibaba, which could not exist without good chips.
