Sony Releases 48 Million Pixel Mobile Cmos Imx586: Support 4k 90fps

On the afternoon of July 23rd, SONY released a new stack CMOS, IMX586, for smart phone platforms today.


IMX586 has 48 million effective pixels and resolution 8000x6000, which is the highest in the industry. Other specifications, sensors 1/2 inch, unit pixel 0.8 m is also the world's first.

In video recording, IM586 supports the highest 4K 90FPS and the slow motion frame can go to 720P 480FPS.


SONY introduces that the IMX586 pixel array uses a Quad Bayer array. Under dark light, four pixels can be used to light (equivalent 12 million pixels) to reduce the noise and enhance the brightness.


See here, many friends may think of the HUAWEI P20 Pro on the 40 million pixel IMX600, is also a large pixel, Quad Bayer array. However, IMX600 has larger sensor size (1/1.73), larger single pixel and integrated DRAM, which can achieve 960FPS slow motion.


It is reported that IMX586 contains tax like price of 3000 yen, or about 183 yuan, began shipment in September.
